Have had a many great lunches here but tonight was the 1st time having dinner. I had the Crab dip as my appetizer and Crab Legs meal as dinner.... The legs were So fresh and sweet as was the corn on the cob!!! Also was a delightful surprise that the guy that served me tonight was someone I remember as a fun and awesome server/person as far back as the oyster bar that Charles owned Downtown! 🤩 Always a pleasure to eat here!!.. Hats off to you for running such a wonderful place of great Food and good memories Mrs Wally!!!

Good food and good people

Fantastic food! We were passing through on our way to Kill Devil Hills. Sticking with the trip rule to just eat locally, we found The Garden Stop. It was tiny, but the tuna steak sandwiche was the best I've ever had! My 3 travel companions got the special and INHALED the crispy tortillas. I wish we lived in the same state as the Garden Stop, but we will definitely be stopping by again if we're ever in the area.

The food is very delicious, but it's a bit expensive; not overly expensive, but more expensive than the atmosphere and menu would suggest.

Down home southern food! The tea is almost as sweet as my dear mother used to make! Service was good and food was perfect! My wife and I both ordered the surf and turf, steak was larger than expected plus cooked to our request, shrimp were plump and lightly breaded, cocktail sauce was amazing. Cucumber salad was light and refreshing. Fries were crisp and tasty! The roll was delicious and surprising not sure how to describe it but here we go, the top of the biscuit was golden brown with fried cheese, the center was moist, thick and a good type of gooey! Nice atmosphere and the other patrons, who were locals, were charming! Located in an adorable but seemingly abandoned downtown area off the beaten path. After dinner we took a stroll across the street and walked along the water front. Very peaceful and tranquil location.

Great food

Our party was charged for twice as much food than what was ordered and received. When we addressed the mix-up, the manager proceeded to argue with us extensively. Eventually she told us to "just leave". Felt very unwelcome in a place that's usually raved about by locals. Will not be coming again.

The Garden Spot seems like a sweet place with delicious food, but if you want good service and a fair price for lunch DO NOT GO HERE! I came for lunch and thought the Daddy Shrimp and Daddy Oyster Plate looked really good ($11 each). When the waitress came to the table I asked if it was possible to get 1/2 oysters and 1/2 shrimp for the same price. She said yes not a problem and brought out my food. When I was finished with lunch and went to pay the lady at the register charged me $27!!! What?!? How does 2 half orders equal 2x the amount of money?!? When I was confused about the price the aggressive older woman at the register argued with me and continued to tell me I ordered something off the dinner menu, even though I wasn’t notified about a price difference or that what I ordered was a dinner item! Looking for food service? Look elsewhere!

Great place for lunch. We order lunch here often and pick it up for work. Great prices and I love their fries.

Super fast service and the food was off the hook! My mother and mother in-law had the pork chop special and I had the shrimp wrap. No one yet can touch the way the wraps are made to me. Thanks to Ms. Wally and the staff.

A small cafe charging like a big city restaurant without the service to match. However on the up side the food tastes good.

Amazing food

I love going to the Garden Spot. My mom and I eat there pretty regularly and I'm never disappointed. I always eat their grilled chicken wrap, but on Thursdays, they have the best fried pork chop I've ever eaten, and this is coming from someone who will choose any other meat over pork chop. The flavor is wonderful. If you're an out of town guest, I highly recommend the Garden Spot.

Stopped in this small town treasure to try it out. Wonderful Experience, Excellent Food “Quartermaster and Tuna Steak” most of all Perfect Sweet Tea!!
